Acquisition: Finding a better way
I’m really excited to launch Acquisition, the latest tool available inside our Evolution platform.
The purpose of Acquisition is to help clubs mitigate risk and maximise success in the transfer market. Player trading is one of the biggest opportunities for a club to move the needle on performance, and yet as an industry we only get it right 50% of the time. The truth is, player recruitment is hard and is often more about the players we don’t sign.
When we founded 21st Club in 2013, we set out to change the conversation in football. Our goal was and remains to help clubs discover new ways of working, collaborating and decision-making. It’s this core purpose that still makes us jump out of bed each morning and has fuelled our latest innovation.
Such a mission requires a certain level of vulnerability on both sides. It takes curiosity on your part to actively scrutinise your existing methods, and an equal level of courage from us to challenge the status quo. Such a relationship relies on trust and an alliance forged from a shared ambition; to find a better way.
Conventional thinking dictates that you should make products that people want rather than make people want your products. Yet the late Steve Jobs once said that people don’t know what they want until you show them. We hope that Acquisition is a healthy blend of both perspectives. We’ve spent years working inside the industry and researching the market to understand the challenges clubs face, but we’ve also created a tool that offers solutions to problems that many don’t yet realise exist.
We believe that Acquisition can change the way that football club boardrooms assess potential new signings. We truly hope that it makes your lives easier, helps cut through the noise, and ultimately improves your chances of success in the transfer market.
Thank you for your continued support,
Blake Wooster (CEO, 21st Club)
