What have you taken from 2015?
It’s hard to believe that 2015 is already drawing to a close, and yet here we are – with our last Evolution blog of the year.
Thanks for taking the time to read and to share our blog, the purpose of which is to respectfully challenge conventional boardroom thinking and to help find a better way of making decisions.
Here are our most popular 5 posts of year:
(As we approach the January window, the ‘Make three rules’ post is worth another read.)
And as we eagerly await the start of the new year, it’s healthy to look back and reflect on 2015 in order to to use any learnings from the year to anticipate the future.
At 21st Club we discovered that boardrooms across the world are increasingly curious about understanding the true underlying performance of your club on the pitch, in order to influence better decision making off it. We are also witnessing more clubs coming to us for help with their succession planning – both in relation to the playing squad and the next head coach or manager – recognising that an investment in the mid-to-long term planning process now will mean fewer reactive decisions along the way.
Similarly, we found that potential investors in football clubs are undertaking much more due diligence into the team’s performance and player ‘portfolio’ when weighing up the risks and value of a football club investment.
What have you taken from 2015 and how will you apply that new knowledge next year?
Whatever it is that you decide to change, let’s make 2016 a year to remember!
